Annual Holiday Benefit Show
Located in your community, giving back to the community.
For the past 16 years, Spendwood School of Dance and Gymnastics has performed a special benefit performance during the month of December. Up to this point, we've raised and donated over $75,000, supporting such causes as: Clothe-A-Child, Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes-Waterford Elks, Parson's Center, Ronald McDonald House, Albany Medical Center Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society, the Cohoes Firefighters Children's Cheer Program, and the Cohoes School Performing Arts Booster Club.
Together, we have made a difference.

2022 Holiday Show
In 2022, our Holiday Benefit performance raised money in honor of beloved and deeply-missed long-time Spendwood employee Charlene Pettit. Funds raised from our performance of 'A Nightmare Before Christmas' were donated to Charlene's favorite charity, Pack Ethic Rescue.
Check back in September for news about the 2023 Holiday benefit performance!

Rehearsals & Expectations
Rehearsals for the show are held on Saturdays from September until the week of the show. On Thanksgiving weekend, rehearsal will be held on Sunday to accommodate for travel. Since participation in the show is outside of the regular class, these Saturday rehearsals are the only time students have to learn and practice their dances. As such, attendance is critical.
Rehearsal schedules will be posted each week. You student's time may vary. As we get closer to the show, rehearsals become full-cast and are about 3 hours in duration. Your child will need to have appropriate shoes, dancewear, water, and snacks for these rehearsals.
Fee for the show is $50 per student. A commemorative t-shirt will be available for purchase. Prior to the show, we have a pizza party and movie night for the full cast to celebrate our hard work.
