ABOUT US
Spendwood School of Dance & Gymnastics has proudly been a part of the Waterford and Cohoes communities for over 60 years. Founded in 1964, Spendwood has built a legacy of excellence in dance and gymnastics instruction. Now located in the historic Lyceum Building in Cohoes, New York, we continue our tradition of providing exceptional training for students of all ages and skill levels.
For generations, Spendwood has been known for its high professional standards, individualized attention for every student, and experienced, dedicated teaching staff. Our instructors have trained in Boston, New York, and beyond, and continue to expand their knowledge through ongoing professional development and master classes led by Broadway professionals and industry experts.
We take pride in cultivating a positive, welcoming, family atmosphere where every student feels encouraged to learn, grow, and express themselves through movement. Whether a child is taking their very first class or an experienced performer is refining their skills, our goal is to help every student build confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of dance and gymnastics.
We offer classes for children and adults of all experience levels. Gymnastics begins as early as 18 months with our Parent/Tot program, while dance classes start at age 2. Students are thoughtfully placed with others of similar age and ability to ensure a fun, supportive, and successful learning experience.
